My Bouviers are usually in a good, fit
condition as we live on about a half acre of grounds and they
exercise themselves running around the garden.
We also usually do agility once a week which
is great exercise, as well as being lots of fun.
Every Sunday I take them walking
which they enjoy and bounce around with joy while I am getting
out their leads. We walk on a hard surface which is excellent
for developing and building muscles.

After the show, Jovi poses with
UK judge Robin Searle, March, 2004
And this was his written
critique: "Ch. Farleycross So Far of Good of Calliope. 3
years. Very typical of breed. Well balanced, excellent bone,
feet, cobby body, and so very sound. Would like her trimmed out
more. CC. BOB, Reserve in Group".
Of course to do well
in the show ring, besides training the dog, and learning how to
stack and gait, having the dog, and yourself, in very fit condition,
feeding the dog well, and caring for the Bouviers' coats throughout
the year, you must start with a good quality Bouvier.
By that, I mean no serious
or disqualifying faults such as undershot or overshot bites, pale,
washed out colours, very long bodies instead of being cobby, and, of
course, poor temperament.
In December, 2005, I purchased
Rick Lois From the Dogsfarm in Holland. See his page
here.
Rick came to Barbados as an
accomplished show dog, with various wins in Holland, Finland,
Switzerland, and a Best Bouvier at a UK show as well as a Best in
Show at an UK Open Show.
In 2007, his daughter Rhapsody
gets her 3rd CC

See Rhapsody in 2006 winning Best
Puppy in Show at
7 months
At 19
months, Winning the Working Group Reserve and Best Locally Bred
in Show
