Results of Bouviers at the conformation show in March can be seen here:- Ferelith Somerfield in Barbados Rita was at agility at the beginning of the year. She is such a clown. Sometimes she is so happy after doing jumps and obstacles in agility training, that she takes off and runs around the ring at full speed by herself. She was on what is called here "the Novice agility group level". Next session through, she went into season. Dogs are not allowed on agility classes when they are in season and so I sent Rhapsody to class instead.
Rita coming out of the tunnel A different set of dogs who had more exposure to agility than Rhapsody but Rhapsody did very well. She was a bit naughty with the tail of a dog who kept on invading her space but the dog's owner took it in good stride. That particular dog seems fascinated by Rhapsody and Rhapsody so far has not appeared too friendly towards him. Rhapsody now seems ok with the see-saw and walk-way which at first she was very hesitant with. I did not attend Novice obedience group classes for the year but I decided to sit the trials. Rhapsody passed the final leg of Novice, leg C, and so she now has the CD title. Rita passed leg B and scored high in trials. When it came to leg C, she appeared very bored but it was a long evening and in her Bouvier mind, I guess she felt she had done enough. Jeff Evelyn did the training and Jeff had started off with Rita and Raps with his Great Dane and Boxer but he finished before we did as I did not attend trials at the end of March due to other commitments. He gave us a training practice at his home. What I have tried to do with these Bouviers is to make training fun for them as I realise they get bored very easily with the repetitive nature of obedience training. So I have created my own games, especially with Rita.
