Dr. James took time after the show to present a slide show on canine conformation and movement where he showed how judges will use measurements to assist in predicting movement as if the structure is incorrect, although a good handler might try to hide faults, a trained and experienced judge will know from the structure how the dog should move. Dr. James grew up in a household where Bullmastiffs were successfully bred and exhibited and at the show on October 7, 2007, twelve Bullmastiffs turned up for him to judge. He has been giving CCs to Bullmastiffs since 1972. Dr. James is known for his Jasmonde kennel of Pointers and Basenjis. At his time of judging in Barbados, he was approved to give CCs to 25 breeds drawn from the Gundog, Hound and Working Groups. He also judges the Gundog Group and Best in Show at Championship shows. He has had the experience of judging 114 different breeds at Open Shows in the UK as well as judging all of the puppy groups, as well as Best Puppy in Show at the City of Birmington's Championship show this year.
One evening after the show, Dr. James used Rhapsody as a live specimen to illustrate the various measurements which would result in excellent movement.
.. Rhapsody is now made up as a Champion. Each judge has commented on her excellent movement and soundness.
It is nice when the judges take the time to make presentations to the show exhibitors which will assist them in acquiring more knowledge pertaining to showing dogs.
