About Me

For a long time, I have wanted to create a web site about my Bouvier Des Flandres dogs. So my web site has had a lot of thought. Yes, and challenges!

Although I have formal (local) training in Desktop Publishing, PowerPoint, Web Site and Graphic Design, Excel, plus the basics in other applications, my working background and formal training is in Human Resources Management and Marketing Management.

I know basic HTML, SQL, and scripting languages/programmes like JavaScript, PHP, CSS and some of the graphic programmes like PhotoShop and I enjoy building web pages.

I am a former national sports person, representing Barbados in table tennis from my teens and I wore Barbados’ colours (blue and black) for over a decade. I was ranked as the number one female player on the island for over 10 years and was also ranked between number one to three of female players in the Caribbean.

Besides my obvious involvement and love of Bouviers, (I train my Bouviers and also do all of their grooming), I enjoy the sea (certified scuba diver) and collect exotic plants, orchids, bromeliads and heliconias.

When I started this site in 203, I purchased a Fujifilm digital camera which was only 1.3 mega pixels! In July, 2006, I purchased a Casio EX-Z600 which is 6 mega pixels as I wanted to up-grade my pictures' quality and I am looking forward to taking all kinds of interesting Bouvier shots, and also Barbados scenes.

In September, 2009, I purchased a Canon 40D which is 10 megapixs and will take me a while to understand how to use all of its features.

Living on an island has its pros and cons, but Barbados has a truly beautiful climate. I am one of the ones who appreciate the opportunities of living in a larger country but I do have a love and loyalty for my island home.

I hope you will enjoy my site, meet my Bouviers and also very, very briefly be introduced to the island, Barbados, which is a part of this site as it is the home of my Bouviers.
